My mission is to complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. Why? Because wouldn't it be the coolest to actually do a bunch of things I've always wanted but may never get around to doing if I don't write them down and focus? I thought so. I hope you will too. So here's my list and time's ticking away . . .

Switching Gears

I crossed some movies off my Oscar List today, and added "The Departed" as the winner for 2006. This week I have to cancel my Zip.ca subscription. Put it on hold for awhile. Until I'm more financially free to pursue dvd hobbies again. So, it might be a little bit before I get back to this one. I have seen a lot of movies so far though! Many that I would never have sought out otherwise. So I'm pleased with the progress so far. Now, I'll switch gears. Next up is the books. Novels take longer to complete. But I live within walking of the library. So this is an inexpensive (as long as I don't miss library deadlines) mission to complete. Now, I just need to find out their hours. It seems they are a bit wanky.

My 101 Tasks

~~1. Read The DaVinci Code.~~

2. Get a passport.

~~3. Get up by 7:30am every day for a month.~~

~~4. Participate in a marathon.~~

5. Submit one piece of writing for possible publication every day for a month.

~~6. Eat breakfast every day for a month.~~

~~7. Buy an original piece of art.~~

8. Submit a novel-length manuscript for publication.

~~9. Become involved in drama, either theatre or film production, on a regular basis. (i.e. like join the film co-op or get into a theatre club, etc.)~~

10. Prepare four issues of BnM in advance of publication, i.e. edit, upload and design all article pages.

11. Write a play.

12. Learn 50 common words and/or phrases in Italian.

~~13. Hang things in your apartment, from the ceiling and on the walls.~~

14. Walk 45 minutes every day for a month.

15. No caffeine for one month.

16. No computer, telephone, tv, or dvds for one week.

~~17. Clean out your inbox.~~

18. Celebrate with a glass of Dom Perignon.

~~19. Fall in love.~~

20. Watch all the Oscar winning Best Pictures.

21. Read all the books on the Modern Library's Top 100 List (The Board's Picks)

23. Throw a cocktail party.

24. Go on a wine tasting trip to a vineyard.

25. Get eyes tested.

26. Participate in Nanowrimo.

27. Attend the Harbourfront Festival of Authors.

28. Attend the Toronto International Film Festival.

29. See a Broadway play.

30. Go to Europe.

32. Go to the Farmer's Market every Friday for a month.

~~33. Obtain a good camera and take more photos.~~

38. Get a laptop computer.

39. Go camping.

40. Become a Big Sister or otherwise volunteer to work with or mentor youth.

41. Go to a spa.

42. Attend Catholic Church services three Sundays in a row.

44. Read all the books in Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

45. Take a long distance train trip, complete with room.

48. Meditate 15 minutes every morning for two weeks.

50. Floss every day for two weeks.

53. Handwrite letters to friends and family, and send one a day for a month.

54. Go ice skating.

55. Exercise for a half hour every day for two weeks.

57. Get my remaining fillings.

58. Pay off credit card.

59. Purchase my first home.

60. Get a bicycle.

61. Walk to French Fort Cove for a day of writing.

62. Learn how to use chopsticks.

63. Get a lawn chair and spend more time sitting outside.

64. Dress up every day for a week (heels, make-up, skirts, jackets, the works!)
